IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OUR PATIENTS
feb 22, 2021
To protect the health of the community during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kingston Family Health Team has suspended all in person programs until further notice.
During this time, programs and services, including mental health counselling and dietitian services, will be offered virtually by telephone or videoconference.
Appointments with physicians and other healthcare providers may also be offered over the phone where possible. If this is not possible and you will be attending an appointment in person, please do not attend if you are experiencing any symptoms, however mild, of COVID-19. We continue to monitor the evolving situation and follow recommendations from Public Health to help limit the spread of COVID-19.
We appreciate your understanding during this time.
SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19 AND WHEN TO SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION:
As you are aware, the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), is present in Ontario. It is linked to travel to countries outside of Canada, including the USA, and community spread. It causes illness ranging from a mild cold to severe respiratory distress.
When the symptoms are MILD or MODERATE, it is impossible to differentiate from our common colds, cough and influenza. There is NO treatment for this illness in the MILD to MODERATE stage other than keeping hydrated and taking over the counter medication as needed for cough suppression, pain and fever.
Public Health Ontario is recommending that if you think you have COVID-19, visit an Assessment Centre to get a COVID-19 test. You can also take a self-assessment to help you decide if you need to get tested.
