Arthritis Clinic

The Kingston Family Health Team has partnered with the Arthritis Society to provide occupational and physical therapy for patients who have been diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis or osteoarthritis. Children with arthritis may also receive therapy.

The goal is to help those living with arthritis minimize the impact of this chronic disease on their daily lives.

Through one-on-one consultations with an occupational therapist, patients learn skills to maximize their independence, enhance their mobility and improve their self-esteem and self-confidence.

Patients will learn about:

  • how to cope with pain and the emotional impact of arthritis

  • arthritis medications

  • exercise to reduce stiffness, increase strength, and improve fitness

  • new ways to complete activities to minimize stress on joints

  • how their family can help

Patients require a referral from their healthcare provider to attend the arthritis clinic.
