This 6 session educational workshop is for those who want to learn practical techniques for managing stress. Participants will learn about the nature of stress, how it affects them, and the health benefits of stress management. They will be guided through techniques of relaxation, self-care and develop an awareness of how thought patterns can contribute to, or alleviate stress. Participants will learn to use Cognitive Behaviour Therapy techniques to modulate their stress response.
The sessions are facilitated by a Social Worker and other professionals on the Kingston Family Health Team. Each session focuses on a specific aspect of stress and is 2 hours in length.
